This sounds like it could be in a Metroid game if there was one that was a little less grim and had some really quirky elements to it. It has that really nice desolate mysterious space vibe but I also appreciated the dancey parts a lot, made me think of an intergalactic rave battle. Which doesn't sound that cool but the way I imagine it in my head is pretty sweet

Spadezer responds:

Dude comparing my music to Metroid! I'm honored. And it sounds like our minds went in similar directions with the music so I dig what you're getting at. "Intergalactic rave battle" I don't think is too far off what I envisioned. Not quuuuuiiite what I was getting it, but that's the cool part about music is being able to communicate thoughts without words.

Thanks

Very pretty, I think everything was placed just right for what you were going for arrangement wise.

Not bad, I really like the distinct sections you have going on, and there are some really interesting ideas going on I think. I hear some room for variety when it comes to some of the melodies, such as the beginning where it is mostly a variation of the same arpeggiated notes. But all in all it's pretty catchy

McGorilla42 responds:

Thanks for the review, Connor :) Yeah perhaps the intro and verse ideas are slightly too repetitive. I think the idea at the time was to have a motif in the intro and then develop it in the verse but maybe a bigger variation would've improved it (perhaps even a new melody or much more distinct voice?). Thank you again for taking the time to listen and review! Appreciate it hugely :)

Makes me want to go chill at the beach. Pretty cool

me-the-Guy responds:

thanks man!

I like this a lot. Honestly it started out reminding me of some badass fantasy game, then it turned into the Lion King, and I was pretty happy with that

Mattashi responds:

Haha yeah! It definitely has that Lion King vibe xD

This is really pretty. I liked the chord progressions a lot. Multiple times it went somewhere I wasn't expecting and really caught my interest. Plus in some way it reminds me of the Finale of Bo Burnham's Make Happy, which is a good thing

Phonometrologist responds:

Though I am not familiar with the reference given, I do appreciate the kind words. Thank you

This is pretty cool. I dig the atmosphere it creates, but I feel like you could make the samples hit a lot harder. The snare and some of those low synths I thought if they had more impact would be reeeal nice and grimey. In a good way.

Zeekyboogydoog responds:

Thanks for the tips, man!

This is really well written, you really captured the sound you were going for I think! There were times where I could have gone with less reverb, but nice mix overall

sleepFacingWest responds:

Thanks! I'm glad you mentioned the reverb. It was something I went back and forth on for awhile so this confirms some of my misgivings.

Wow this is really cool. Those synth sounds really struck me. Kind of "talkie" which I like and they glide SO nicely. Definitely could relax to this hard

etherealwinds responds:

That's what I first experimented with actually! In fact, I used something called 'decimate voice' somewhere in FL Studio, and it was a very strange but intriguing sound. Some tweaking, and I managed to make it sound really nice! I pretty much built the rest of the track around that and the pads.

That slow down part is sick, totally thought it was over at first. Super poppin tune
