You've got a really high quality sound. You definitely do a sweet job of capturing an atmosphere. All I could imagine listening to this was some futuristic Midgar-esque city in the dead of night. I could definitely see something of this style in the background of some action game like that. Not quite memorable enough to be title screen music or anything, but as a soundtrack to gameplay it would kill it.

Mellowsonic responds:

thanks man yeah soundtrack for games where my dream :D

Excellent sense of space in your mix, and quite cohesive overall. Love your choice of sounds used, the percussion especially just sits right for me. Something I would suggest is to get a little more creative and in depth on your transitions! A lot of them somewhat fell flat like the sudden jump to loud again around 2:49. Something like a gong or cymbal, or even a little filtered white noise sweep usually adds a lot of flavour to stuff like that I have found. But good stuff, and some nicely written parts in here as well!

Thx I appreciate the ideas of what I can do better and the nice parts :D

Really good stuff. Definitely get a Danny Elfman vibe. Especially at 1:11 when the pulsing synth kicks in. I love the composition, the track has a good sense of building up throughout. The way you use the samples sounds great, although I would say the one thing worth fiddling with is expression and timing controls on your MIDI. It definitely seems that you've done some of that, but there are just some parts that I can't help but feel sound robotic. There's really only so far you can go with samples though, and I think what you have going on is pretty nicely up there.

HellboundDochi responds:

Thank you. I definitely get what you mean with the MIDI expressions and timing controls, something I've always had a bit of trouble with, but trying to work on.

Cool ideas, but I think execution could be improved.
I'd say you should focus on leveling of the elements in your mix. For example the drums coming in at 0:05 are too quiet to me, synths joining in at 0:08 are too loud and sound disconnected from the rest of the track.
I do like the vibe you have going on, kind of a twisted monster dance party sort of thing. A suggestion for composition is watch out for dissonance between your synths, in a way it kind of fits with making this sort of song but only to a certain extent (just my personal taste, I know plenty of stuff uses dissonance quite a bit).
With some tweaks though I think this could turn into something pretty cool.

very powerful and helpful review. I was also thinking that the drums are quiet. I am trying to change over fl studio to my new computer. I have all my vsts on my old fl studio. There is so much to learn about music and fl studio it is exciting and one day I will do something great with this software. Thanks for listening to my monster dance party.
